Police kills 6, rescues 23 in Katsina banditry

 

Katsina state police command has rescued 23 kidnapped persons and killed 6 bandits at Lambo village located in Kurfi local government of the state.

Gambo Isa, the state’s police command spokesperson confirmed this in a statement released on Tuesday.

He disclosed that the rescued victims consist of 17 women and six children. Six bandits were killed and 74 rustled animals were recovered along with 12 motorcycles.

“Search parties are still combing the area with a view to arrest more suspected bandits and/or recover their dead bodies, investigation is ongoing,” he said.

“The command has received additional units of mobile police personnel and brand new vehicles to fight banditry in Katsina including many armoured personnel carriers. More are still coming.”
