President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he bears no grudges against Nigerians who believe no progress was made on insecurity.
He said this in his New Year speech.
The country has through the last year, gone through horrendous security challenges. Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, and Sokoto states specifically have been ravaged by marauding bandits who have killed persons and destroyed properties. In these states and more, kidnapping has upped from the little nudge it was in the past.
“I am aware that for some of our compatriots, the progress we have registered since the inception of this administration is not nearly as fast or as sufficient as they would wish,” the President said. “I do not begrudge them their views in so far as they signify a wish, in which we all share, for only the very best for our country.”
Buhari asked that they compare what the country was faced in 2015 to where it is now.
Nevertheless, I call upon all Nigerians to carefully recall the circumstances of our coming to office, the facts on the ground, and the resources at our disposal since 2015 with the accomplishments of this administration,” President Buhari said.
