NCDC records 1,964 new cases of COVID-19, 7 new deaths

 

Effects of the second wave of the novel coronavirus continues to be felt as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announces 1,964 new cases of COVID-19.

According to NCDC, seven other persons also died from the virus in 24 hours.

It brings to 116,655, the total number of positive cases in the country and 1,485 the total number of deaths.

Lagos, the epicenter of the virus recorded 824 new infections followed by the FCT with 246, followed by Plateau with 166 infections.

Other states were Kaduna-128, Ogun-76, Nasarawa-74, Anambra-69, Edo-50, Rivers-45, Ondo-44, Niger-40, Oyo-38, Adamawa-35, Kano-31, Akwa Ibom-27, Gombe-19, Kwara-13, Ekiti-12, Delta-6, Kebbi-6, Bauchi-5, Ebonyi-4, Osun-3 and Zamfara-1.
